Exploring Natural Cures for Acne

Many are turning to natural solutions for common problems such as acne. Natural acne remedies offer relief which is often less costly than prescription medicine with less dangerous side effects. Many of the ingredients in acne medications can do more harm than good when it comes to your skin. It is important to know not to squeeze pimples as many people have a habit of doing because this can cause a serious infection.

Toothpaste is a common remedy many use to get rid of acne. Cover the affected area with toothpaste and cover with a band-aid if desired. You can do this before bedtime and wash off with soap and water in the morning or if you prefer, leave on for about three hours and then wash it off thoroughly. Use plain toothpaste, not the gel or tarter control type as these may irritate your skin.

Honey is also a great natural cure for acne, apply to the area at bedtime and wash off in the morning. The honey will help draw the infection to a head and speed the healing process. You may also apply the honey and wash if off after an hour or so. You need to do this twice a day for fifteen days to achieve the best results. The natural antibacterial qualities of honey help heal your acne and will help prevent scarring.

Vinegar is a natural cure for acne as well as many other things. The best type to use is organic apple cider vinegar though other types may work as well. You can use the vinegar full strength or mix it with water if you have sensitive skin. Apply it directly to your acne at nighttime and wash off in the morning. It is also helpful to drink 2 tablespoons twice a day to clear your skin of acne and improve the condition of your skin. Mixing a small amount of soda pop or other carbonated beverage makes it much easier to get the vinegar down.

Tea tree oil is another product used in controlling and curing acne, not only is it an antibacterial; it is also anti fungal and anti viral. Check to make sure the tea tree oil does not irritate your skin by testing in a small area on your face. If it does irritate your skin, a good solution is to mix a drop or so with Aloe Vera before use or buy the tea tree oil already prepared for use in treating acne.

There are numerous natural acne remedies for those wanting to avoid the expense of prescription and over the counter acne treatments. Natural remedies are much safer without the undesirable side effects that can occur with traditional acne products. You can also shop online for natural products to buy and use to control your acne. As always, it is best to talk to your doctor before taking supplements or other products especially if you are on other medications.

The Best Acne Treatment To Take Care Of Your Skin And Prevent Acne

If you’ve got acne-prone skin, getting rid of your acne is something you can have total control over. In fact, you may not realize just how much control you do have over the best treatment and remedy of your acne.

Some people assume they just have problem skin and there is nothing they can do. Chances are they have tried a variety of products on the market for it as well. When nothing gives them results they may assume they are just going to have to let the acne run its course.

In order to control the acne you already have you need to device a plan of action. The solution lies within your skin care procedures. You may think that washing your face when you shower and before bed is enough. Yet if you aren’t using the right products it isn’t going to get your results you want. For example too many soaps and products on the market for acne have harsh ingredients in them.

As a result they can dry out your face. Instead you need to use a mild soap and then pat your face dry. This is an excellent way to take care of your skin. It is a common misconception that scrubbing your face with the towel will remove dirt and debris. Yet gentle cleansing does the same without damaging your skin.
You should be in the habit of exfoliating at least once a week. This will remove the dead skin from your face. As a result it won’t clog your pores which can result in acne. Do your best to avoid various types of over the counter treatments. For the most part they will be an ineffective acne treatment for you.

The best acne remedy is to take a holistic approach. Washing your face correctly is just the beginning. You need to think about what you eat and drink as well. It has often been said that greasy foods and chocolate can result in acne. That isn’t exactly true but what you eat is important. Consuming plenty of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and water removes toxins from your body naturally.

It is those toxins that will result in bacteria building up and then acne forming. So one of the most effective forms of acne remedy is to remove such toxins from your body before the acne even has a chance to form. It is a better alternative then looking to acne treatment after you already have the outbreak.

If you have been looking unsuccessfully for a solution to your acne problems, then this could be the answer. You won’t be wasting your money on products that really don’t help you to control the acne. At the same time you will be engaging in forms of skin care that really help you to glow. Not only will you suffer less from acne, your skin will look quite radiant. It can help you look younger too which many women really enjoy.

If you are tired of trying one acne treatment after another it is time to get real results. Now is the time to try an acne remedy that really will get you results. If you are taking care of your skin the right way you can clear up the acne you already have. You can also prevent acne from being something you continue to struggle with.

Cured My Acne With Non Prescription Medication

Acne cures abound on drugstore shelves, behind the pharmacy counter and on the Internet. However, there is still plenty of acne in the world, so obviously many people still have not found the treatment that works for them. This article will present an overview of the most popular treatments, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of each.

Acne occurs when skin on the face, back and chest react to the male hormones testosterone and dihydrotestosterone and grow too fast, a process known as hyperkeratois. The overgrowth of skin cells clogs sebaceous glands, which develop a secondary infection from usually innocuous skin bacteria. This causes a pimple or cyst.

Disinfectant pads and alcohol-based astringents may help dry out the skin and ease the annoying oily sheen accompanying the acne, but they will not penetrate the skin and have little permanent effect.
The most popular acne remedy is benzoyl peroxide. The combination of antibacterial peroxide, combined with a benzoyl molecule to help it penetrate the skin more deeply that topical peroxide, controls the infection which causes pimples and dries them up. It is cheap, non-prescription and available in almost every store. For low-grade acne, it will probably be sufficient in and of itself. The disadvantage is that it can irritate thin, delicate skin, and it bleaches clothing. Also, some people do not like the idea of applying a benzoyl-derived compound to their skin, as related compounds have been proven carcinogenic. However, no human study has found any link between benzoyl peroxide and skin cancer, so it seems quite safe.

Fruit acids such as glycolic acid help acne by exfoliating the skin, countering hyperkeratosis. Longterm use in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide may provide the best combination treatment available over the counter. However, when treatment is first begun, slight irritation may occur and the acne may get worse before it gets better. Salicylic acid is the oldest of these exfoliants.

Sulfur compounds, one of the oldest acne remedies, dry up lesions, ease inflammation and are antibacterial. However, many people dislike the harsh smell of sufur. Some facial masks disguise the odor by combining sulfur in a mud mask, which is also soothing and exfoliating. It will improve the texture and appearance of oily skin if used on a regular basis. It is a natural remedy free of any known drawbacks or hazards.

Saw Palmetto is a natural herb which has been shown to be an effective antiandrogen. It blocks the conversion of testosterone into the acne-producing metabolite. Its most common use is for benign prostatic hypertrophy.

Some proprietary blends of OTC ingredients are also available, such as ProActiv or Murad, which combine different compounds in specific blends which as supposedly better than any one chemical by itself. Some of these patent medicines have good consumer reviews, such as ProActiv, but they can be quite expensive when compared to generic benzoyl peroxide.

If one over the counter remedy does not help or the effect wears off, combine them or rotate their use.

Different Types of Acne

Before you can treat your acne, it is important to understand that there are different types of acne. Check with your doctor to see what she suggests. While some think a person’s diet causes acne, others believe this is not true unless a food allergy is the source of the problem. You should let acne disappear by itself. Therefore, once you stop using acne treatment, acne will come back again and again every time you stop using it. Topical antibiotics are also used in the battle with acne these include erythromycin, and clindamycin.

Natural Acne Remedies: All Gain With No Pain

Around puberty time, it’s not uncommon for an adolescent’s oil-secreting glands to kick into overdrive. The results are blackheads and pimples on the skin in varying degrees. They usually show up on the face, but can also show up on the back and shoulders. Acne and pimples are a part of growing up and we have all gone through that stage. At one stage, it was once thought that acne resulted from eating the wrong types of foods such as chocolates and french fries, which happens to be a teenager’s favorite food. Today we know that acne, along with oil gland secretions, has more to do with heredity and stress and not food.
